Wrap a cloth measuring tape around your head just above your eyebrows and ears. Pull the tape comfortably snug, read the length, repeat for good measure and use the largest measurement. A piece of string will work too, then just hold it up to a ruler and measure.

"I love Boston hats. I only wish that the hat sizes were more consistent. I guess i'm being too harsh because I own thirty of their hats all of which are XL (60mm) and at a price point of $52 a hat, they should be more consistent, and before you come at me with (evey third hat is 50% off) I offer you the cost of shipping.
