Wrap a cloth measuring tape around your head just above your eyebrows and ears. Pull the tape comfortably snug, read the length, repeat for good measure and use the largest measurement. A piece of string will work too, then just hold it up to a ruler and measure.

"Ordered 3 XXL caps of different styles and this one fits quite snug and leaves a slight red mark on my forehead, where the other two are perfect. The cut of this is also shallower than the Cool Air and Original versions. Those come to just below the top of my ears, whereas this model sits over a fingerwidth above it. Since it is going to be worn in inclement weather, it may come off easier without that depth, even with it being a much tighter fit. I love my Scally's though and recommend the other 2 models for those of us with bigger noggins."
