Wrap a cloth measuring tape around your head just above your eyebrows and ears. Pull the tape comfortably snug, read the length, repeat for good measure and use the largest measurement. A piece of string will work too, then just hold it up to a ruler and measure.

"Got the Firewater version in XL. 60 cm/7 1/2 my normal size and it was way too big. Had to wash and dry it twice just to hang on my head. Have 21 BSC hats and rarely do they fit the same. Even within the same series. (Different colors). Consistency in sizing would be nice."
