Wrap a cloth measuring tape around your head just above your eyebrows and ears. Pull the tape comfortably snug, read the length, repeat for good measure and use the largest measurement. A piece of string will work too, then just hold it up to a ruler and measure.

"I love this hat. I have a large 7 3/4” head and the XXL fits very comfortably. It isn’t tight but stays on my head in a wind. I bought a flat cap of non traditional style from another company and the fit was not anywhere near as good as this. It doesn’t ride high like a beanie. It not only has the circumference, it sits down on my head perfectly. The only negative is the large sticker they put inside the hat."
"This is the third cap from you and finally I got one that fits. The first one from last spring I ordered small and it was too big, I made it work. The second one I ordered an XS and still a little big , I wear it anyway. This third one XS fits like a glove because it has insulated liner which snugs it up.
