The Irish Micky Ward
Some fighters are made. Others are born. And then there’s Micky Ward—a name that doesn’t just belong to boxing history but to the heart and soul of Lowell, Massachusetts. A fighter’s fighter. A man who never backed down. A warrior who put everything on the line, not for glory, but for the love of the fight, his city, and the people who stood in his corner.
Micky’s story is one of grit, perseverance, and heart. The underdog who kept coming forward, absorbing every punch life threw at him, and never losing sight of where he came from. He wasn’t supposed to go the distance. He wasn’t supposed to have one of the greatest boxing trilogies of all time. But fight after fight, round after round, Micky proved that toughness isn’t just about taking hits—it’s about getting back up, again and again, no matter the odds.
His three-fight war with Arturo Gatti is still talked about as one of the greatest battles in boxing history. Every round, every exchange, was pure heart. He didn’t just fight—he bled for the sport. For the fans. For his family. For Lowell. He left it all in the ring, every single time. And yet, through all the wars, all the fame, Micky never changed. He stayed Lowell’s own—humble, loyal, salt of the earth type of guy who to this day always is looking out for his friends, family, and community.
Micky has been a supporter of Boston Scally from day one, and we built this cap as a tribute to the man, the fighter, and his legacy. The ‘Micky Ward’ is a 6-panel cap—his personal favorite—crafted in the colors that define him: the deep greens of his Irish heritage and the vintage white oatmeal color which was inspired by his legendary fight trunks. It’s a cap built for those who know what it means to fight—not just in the ring, but in life.
This cap is a symbol of resilience, loyalty, and the unbreakable spirit of a true fighter. Just like Micky.

How to Measure Caps
Wrap a cloth measuring tape around your head just above your eyebrows and ears. Pull the tape comfortably snug, read the length, repeat for good measure and use the largest measurement. A piece of string will work too, then just hold it up to a ruler and measure.
